Hello! I'm Brandon Shutter.

I'm a solutions architect with fifteen years across cloud governance, FinOps, and enterprise infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, in both government and commercial environments.

For most of my career I handed blueprints to engineering teams. Now I design and ship the tooling myself. At Kion I own how customers automate a FinOps platform and how their spend data gets into it, most recently the converters that bring AI and SaaS spend under the same governance as cloud; before that I led cloud architecture and a 600-person delivery organization for NASA.

Outside of that I run a market data platform for firearms dealers and a web studio in Colorado. Between them I have shipped native apps to both app stores, which keeps me honest about the difference between an architecture diagram and a system that has to stay up on someone else’s phone.

Away from the terminal I'm a husband and a father, and an Army veteran, four years as a signal support specialist, long before any of the cloud work started. There is a dog named Milo, a garage that keeps losing the argument about how many motorcycles is too many, and a son who is already better on two wheels than he has any right to be.

I'm equally comfortable in a customer whiteboard session and in the system that comes out of it.
